Crosswind up to 18 knots and fluctuating, so no solo flights. Instaed practiced landing in fields - well not literally, but how to do it. Its not for emergencies, but if you need to land but are still under power, or are visiting someone who has a field you can land on. All the oil seed rape is flowering so yellow patchwork of fields. Difficult to find a field with hard flat surface - so many crops etc. Hard to fly over at right angles to field at 1000 ft to check for high obstacles, then low fly at 150 ft to check the surface for landing.

Did a good landing on the way back, even though it was windy.
