08.10.02     11am   SHERBURN  CESNA 150 1 HOUR

Finally feel that i'm progressing at a constant rate. take off was OK, and flying doing ascending and descending turns went OK, began to feel on several occasions that actions are becoming more ingrained rather than precise. Next week i start doing 'circuits' which are flying around in circles doing landing and take offs, and learning how to line up to the runway etc. its getting more straight forward but will be a while until its second nature.

All the aircraft in 'the circuit' today were being flown by women which was really interesting - apparently in the last 5 years lots more women have begun to learn. There are also some manouvres that women find much easier than men, like coming out of a climb, but still turning.

However flying is still a very white dominated activity.

When it was windy Jane said 'keep the horizon still, like you would in a video game'.

WEATHER: quite windy and got near some cloud, strange 3D shape of it hanging in the sky, then around us cloud was at a very particular height.
